The first tour is Zion Narrows. This tour can take you from the bottom of the 16-mile trek or you can begin at the bottom of the river at the Temple of Sinawava. You can rent all the equipment you would need for this hike at Zion Adventure Company. Zion Adventure Company also offers guided tours through the Narrows.

The second your you don’t want to miss out on is the Overland Tour. This is a guided 4×4 tour that takes adventurers through Grafton (an awesome ghost town) through the roads pioneers used to trek, ending on the south side of the Smithsonian Butte. Zion Adventure Company also provides guided tours along this route.

Third is canyoneering. There are a myriad of slot canyons in Southern Utah, and Zion Adventure Company offers guided tours to show you where to go. This tour consists of rappelling, hiking, scrambling, down climbing, wading and swimming.

The fourth tour is the floating tour. This tour begins at the Glen Canyon Dam and ends at Lee’s Fairy. Southern Utah Scenic tours offers this tour, and also a couple of more options to see different landmarks. They also do custom tours if none of the tours they already have fit your schedule.

Last, and definitely not least, is the St. George Live tour. This is the perfect way to learn the history of St. George, as the tour takes you through the Opera House, Social Hall and then to Brigham Young’s home where there are live portrayals of Brigham Young, Orson Pratt and more.

We will also feature “on-site” fitness tips to keep you healthy and in-shape while traveling, even if the hotel you visit doesn’t offer a gym.

5. 5) Art in Kayenta - Feb. 17-19 – The 13th annual art show at Kayenta will feature live music, food and various art work in a range of mediums from all over the country, beneath the gorgeous Coyote Gulch backdrop. Free admission.
    
6. 6) Family History Expo - Feb. 24-25 – 8th annual Genealogy and Family Heritage Jamboree. Learn all about tracing your roots using the latest technologies, resources and techniques in this intensive 2 day workshop. 9 AM to 6 PM at the Dixie Convention Center. Registration fee varies (see website for details). Exhibit Hall is open free to the public both days.
    
7. 7) Dogtown Half Marathon and 9K - Feb. 25 – This canine-themed half marathon stretches a 13.1 mile course across Washington City. It’s great training preparation for upcoming full marathons. Entry is $30-45. Starts at the Zion Harley Davidson, 2345 Coral Canyon Blvd, Washington, Utah.

All of the Christmas lights downtown are up, the businesses have their decorations up, and there are so many fun events celebrating Christmas!

The Tuacahn Festival of Lights is going on every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. The best part about the Festival of Lights is that entrance is free to the public! This would be a great way to get the family in the Christmas spirit.

Also, tomorrow night the Bar J Wranglers will be in town performing their Christmas Concert. If you are a fan of country music, you will love the performance they are putting on!

Don’t forget to check out the Holiday Christmas Home Tour this weekend, and help a pet have a home to go to during the cold season with Home for the Holidays at the St. George Animal Shelter.

The Turkey Trot is a 5K race that helps raise money for the Dixie Care and Share. This year each participating individual brought 3 canned items to donate.

The St. George Ramada Inn wants to congratulate our own worker, Sherry, for participating in the Turkey Trot. She finished it in 48 minutes and 3 seconds! Pretty darn good for walking the whole way!

At the end of the race, there was a raffle for frozen turkeys and other prizes. This was a great event that brought families together as a community.
